In 1937, a Seattle company operating as Marine Electrolysis Eliminator Company (MEECO), under a contract from the United States Department of Natural Resources developed a product for the removal of soot from wood-burning stand-by generators and power plants. The company trademarked the name “RED DEVIL” and introduced this product to the general public the same year. From this beginning, MEECO has built its reputation of quality and service.
Today, MEECO manufactures and markets a complete line of safety and maintenance products for the solid fuel industry (wood stoves, pellet stoves, coal stoves, corn stoves and fireplaces), the fuel oil industry and the gas appliance industry. In addition, it is an OEM supplier of gasketing material to other manufacturers within these industries.
MEECO products are marketed under the “RED DEVIL” and “HEATSAFE” trademarked logos.
